Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double, or even triple, your donation. Check with your employer to see if your gift to Voices for Life can go even further.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (also called a Charitable IRA Rollover) allows individuals age 70½ and older to make a tax-free gift directly from their IRA to Voices for Life. A QCD can offer greater tax advantages than a standard cash donation.

Benefits to a QCD include:

• For individuals age 73 or older, QCDs count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
• Reduces your taxable income.
• Gifts to Voices for Life are tax-free to you.
• You may give more than $100,000 per year in tax-free gifts through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Please consult your tax advisor to confirm current limits and eligibility.

Contact your IRA trustee or custodian through your plan’s website, or speak with your financial advisor, and let them know you would like to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to Voices for Life.

Bequests (Wills & Trusts)

A bequest, made through your will or living trust, is one of the simplest and most flexible ways to leave a lasting impact. Because it is revocable, you can update or change it at any time. If you already have a will or living trust, you can amend it to include a bequest to Voices for Life with a simple codicil.

Appreciate Securities

Donating publicly traded securities that you have owned for more than one year may allow you to:

• Claim a charitable tax deduction based on the fair market value.
• Avoid capital gains tax on appreciated securities.

Voices for Life will sell the securities and apply the proceeds according to your wishes.

Life Insurance

You may designate Voices for Life as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Your policy proceeds will support Voices for Life’s mission and the proceeds will be exempt from estate tax.

Real Estate

Real estate can be an excellent charitable gift. When you deed property to Voices for Life, you may receive an income tax charitable deduction for its value. You can elect to make an outright donation, or use the value to fund a gift that pays you income.

Personal Property

Donations of personal “appreciated stuff”, such as artwork, antiques, or collectibles, qualify for a charitable deduction and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation. Voices for Life may keep the item or sell it to support our mission.
